As an urbanist, I am inspired by the vibrancy of cities and their potential to provide people with access to opportunities, infrastructure and meaningful everyday experiences. I see cities as spaces of engagement and social change, where human-centred design can help in creating healthier, inclusive and meaningful urban environments. While my urban design education and work has been related to social development within the systems of urban environments, my architectural education has focused predominantly on a context driven response within the cities. Design serves as a medium of iterative interpretations of context. I am interested in the potential that design and architecture have to create more environmentally resilient and socially equitable cities.
